FuentesalArenillas

Un acto de balanceo

Until June 10, 2022

With the same eagerness, almost voracious, with which Fuentesal Arenillas travel, analyze and crumble the places of sculpture that since the mid-sixties have been configured from the metaphorical possibilities of the materials, their allegorical and linguistic implications, in short, from its multiple transformations, contaminations and drifts in that celebrated expanded territory, it is no less certain that its objectual constructions are inserted -install themselves- in other circuits of material and cultural production -popular- whose path is independent of the itineraries of modernity (....).

Nalgures. Curated by Natalia Poncela

June 3, 2022 - October 16, 2022

CGAC, Santiago de Compostela

Nalgures delves into the memory of the landscape and of human habitational constructions, but also into the modes of spatial occupation and formal redefinition of the different cultural productions, placing us in an indeterminacy that is yet to be defined, within fragmentary geographies: places, vestiges, modes of occupation.

Alberto Odériz

Casa Manifiesto. Curated by Tania Tovar.

April 9, 2022 - June 9, 2022

Benlliure Gallery UNAM and Casa O' Gorman, Mexico City.

Casa Manifiesto seeks to establish a critical dialogue through the reconstruction of the two houses that Mexican architect Juan O'Gorman (1905-1982) built for himself: his experimental studio house in San Ángel (1929), considered the first functionalist house in Mexico, and the unique Casa Cueva (1948-1969), sculpted on his own land in Pedregal.

The exhibition reviews the numerous material speculations, formal discourses and experimental processes present in his two houses, through the use of scientific techniques of archaeological, documentary, graphic and digital reproduction oriented to precision, combined with artisanal techniques activated by manual labor, execution, difficulty and the archaeological will of the process.

Luisa Pastor

TRAZOS. Archivos de la memoria

20 May 2022 - 25 July 2022

Juana Francés Hall, University of Alicante

ARTISTES ALACANTINS. Art contemporani de la Generalitat Valenciana

April 27, 2022 - June 12, 2022

L'Escorxador. Center of Contemporary Culture of Elche. La Nau Hall

Luisa Pastor's exhibition proposal is based on the transformation of the text into an artistic object, into illegible writing. After the dissection of a ledger, in strips of 7 mm in size, a game of metaphors is provoked, an exchange of roles, where writing loses its original meaning and the purely commercial is transformed into art.

In the central part of the exhibition space, an installation of jícaras through which the small strips of paper flow, causes the fragmented words to slide smoothly and their meaning becomes incomprehensible. This piece is accompanied by works that, like gravitations, join the strips of paper to form small boxes of various sizes, like sculptures in high relief, where time, matter and the challenge of the mind converge.

Mar Ramón Soriano

Sistemas empáticos. Curated by Sara Donoso

May 4, 2022 - July 8, 2022

Alterarte Gallery, Ourense

The exhibition, which is part of the cycle Activar a mirada, desordenar o pensamento follows the line of work of its creator, delves into the "dialogue between the body and domestic objects, how we adapt to them and how they are designed so that we adapt to them".

Andrea V. Wright

DRAPE.

April 27, 2022 - June 4, 2022

FOLD Gallery, UK

DRAPE is a multidisciplinary exhibition that explores notions of materiality, the aesthetics of migration, and the processes of making and unmaking.

The works in this exhibition move between sculpture, painting and craft. With ceramics occupying the space of sculptures and objects occupying the space of paintings, there is a melting pot of materials and a sense of work in motion, where processes are constantly evolving.
